I am Denise P. (@DeniPsDesigns on Instagram), living in Irondequoit, New York, near Lake Ontario.
I'm a Grandma who's been working with computers professionally since 1970.
I retired from the US Air Force (USAF) as a Master Sargeant (MSgt) in February, 1994, after 24 years as a computer operator, programmer, systems analyst, and technical writer.
I lived in Texas, Turkey, Nebraska, Japan, Texas, Japan, then Alabama (1982-1996) while in USAF.
My older sister was baptized on February 16, 1975. She was spiritually-minded and would drag me to church while we were growing up in Brooklyn, NY, on Coney Island Ave near Prospect Park.
She started a study with me in August, 1982, in the Truth book when I visited her in New York from Gunter AFB, Alabama. The study continued with local sisters in Alabama, but after I gave birth to my daughter (May 1983) it was hard to do the study just before her bedtime. I had to go to their home for the study. By the end of the year I stopped my study.
After I moved back to New York in 1996 my sister and I restarted my study in the Knowledge book. An elder saw she was "pushing" me too hard and advised her she might push me away from becoming one of Jehovah's Witnesses, so he suggested turning my study over to another sister. In 1999 she turned over my study to a local sister here in Irondequoit, NY.
I was baptized on "8-1-1" (August 11, 2001) at age 50. I was a Regular Pioneer 2010-11, 2015 and 2021-2023.
